MSSA continues to cement its vital role within the global connectivity ecosystem, driven by its expanding membership that spans both satellite and terrestrial sectors. As the demand for seamless, resilient D2D and NTN connectivity grows, the Association serves as a critical unifying force. By bringing together diverse stakeholders to advance open architectures and technical standards, MSSA is effectively bridging the gap between traditional cellular networks and space-based communications to shape the future of mobile connectivity.
Central to this momentum is MSSA’s strategic collaboration with key global standards and industry bodies, including GSMA, the European Space Agency (ESA), and the 5G Automotive Association (5GAA). These relationships are essential for aligning regulatory frameworks, fostering cross-industry innovation, and ensuring true interoperability across networks. Through these joint efforts, MSSA and its partners are accelerating the advancement of satellite-to-cellular technology to create a more integrated ecosystem that benefits consumers, enterprise businesses, and critical industries worldwide.
To help guide this next phase of ecosystem alignment and scale the organization’s reach, MSSA recently welcomed industry-expert David Hartshorn as the new Director of Membership Development. In this role, David will focus on broadening industry participation, strengthening member engagement, and deepening alignment among satellite operators, mobile network operators (MNOs), and vendors.
He joins the Association with more than three decades of leadership experience spanning satellite communications, wireless technologies, and global industry advocacy. Having previously led major satellite associations and coordinated international spectrum initiatives, his deep understanding of regulatory affairs and proven track record of building consensus among diverse global stakeholders make him uniquely qualified to drive MSSA’s membership growth and expand its influence across the connectivity landscape.
If you know an organization or entity that should be part of MSSA’s vital mission, please reach out to David to explore membership opportunities: DMD@mss-association.org.
